A Berry Blush Late August Wedding

Weddings are such joyful occasions – what could be better than gathering your nearest and dearest for a celebration! Flowers play such a big role on your big day, bringing your colour palette, vibe, and vision to life - they really up the romance factor and add so much to the atmosphere.

With wedding season just around the corner, it’s the perfect time to look back on one of my favourite occasions of 2023 – the wedding of Frances and Dan. On a beautiful summer’s day in August, the happy pair got hitched at Layer Marney Tower in Essex.

Frances and Dan chose a soft pink colour scheme with a touch of apricot and some berry tones for their big day – the six bridesmaids dresses flowed perfectly from dark plum through coral and dusky rose, and all the finishing touches matched beautifully.

The bride’s and bridesmaids’ bouquets featured soft pink asters, dahlias, roses and the prettiest little blushing bride phlox, creating a romantic summer arrangement. I love the combination of softer, more whimsical petals against structural, colourful stems, it gives such an interesting and pretty effect. The bouquets showcased the best blooms of the season, complementing the palette perfectly.

From the ribbons to the buttonholes, all the details were perfectly curated and in keeping with the colour theme and the outcome was stunning.

If you’re planning a wedding, there are so many ways to incorporate your theme throughout the day. Here are some arrangements you might like to consider:

Bridal bouquet – No bride is complete without a beautiful bouquet. Whatever your floral style your flowers should look incredible and make you feel amazing.

Bridesmaids’ bouquets – The bridesmaids’ flowers are usually smaller but similar to the bride’s, and the perfect way to bring your colour theme to life.

Flower crowns/ hair accessories – Many brides choose to have flowers as part of their wedding hair and styling, from statement crowns to subtle head pieces.

Table centrepieces – Bringing your theme to the wedding breakfast, table flowers add vibrancy, atmosphere and interest and delight guests, too.

Buttonholes – The finishing touch for the groom and groomsmen, buttonholes are a lovely way to create synergy between all parties.

Pedestal arrangements – Placed in key areas of your venue, pedestal arrangements are a great way to tie the space to your theme and can be repurposed throughout your day.

Floral arches – The focal point of many weddings, a beautiful floral archway is the perfect statement backdrop for your photos.
